Streusel is a crumb like topping applied to cakes, muffins, yeasted cakes, before baking. It is made from flour, butter and sugar, and it is very easy to make.
- 1/3 cup of sugar
- 2 tbs all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- nuts (optional)
- Blend sugar, butter and flour until crumbs are formed.
- Add cinnamon and nuts, if using.
- Sprinkle over a batter/dough and bake as directed.
